Aaron Freeman simply doesn’t care.

(Listen to the heart-wrenching testimony that Senator Freeman so willfully ignores at 2:06:10)

Freeman:
The biggest obstacle to progress

When the City of Indianapolis took action to combat the animal care crisis by banning puppy mills,
Aaron Freeman voted to force the puppy mills back open.

When the City of Indianapolis took action to combat the pedestrian and cyclist safety crisis by banning right turns on red downtown,
Aaron Freeman called our local government “stupid” and wrote the bill to force the City to watch its people die.

“I live generally in a more rural area.”

Second: Aaron Freeman has a vested financial interest in stopping mass transit or anything inconvenient to automobiles.

“In a leaked Pre-Election report, it is revealed that 11 Ray Skillman Employees donated the maximum amount of $2,500 to the Aaron Freeman Campaign.”

03.04.2020, BlackIndyLive, “Did Ray Skillman Buy Off a Senator In Order to Defund IndyGo?”

The Republican Party currently holds a supermajority in the Statehouse. It’s only thanks to others that Freeman has any power. But if we ever want democracy in our future again, it is vital that we send a message to the Indiana Republicans: when you push us too far, you’re going to regret it.

Senator Freeman thinks that he is politically unstoppable.

Together, we’re going to stop him.

Together, we’re going to teach Freeman that Ray Skillman and his other big donors can’t buy their way out of this one.

We are recruiting a candidate to run against him this November.

We are training phone bankers and canvassers.

We are raising money.

We are knocking doors.

We are listening to the residents of Senate District 32, not just the auto dealerships.

We are going to run circles around Freeman’s campaign - after all, our lives are on the line.

We have a short sprint to November ahead of us, but this is by far a winnable race. Let’s do this, Indianapolis - together.

“I’m all for local government until it’s stupid. I'm happy to save the city from itself.”

04.18.23, Indy Star, “Indiana lawmakers move bill to block Indianapolis' no-turn-on-red restriction”.

And when as a community, we all voted to pay more of our own money to help built Bus Rapid Transit and start building the type of public transit that a world-class city requires,

Aaron Freeman has called our attempts at progress “astronomically dumb” and has written three different bills to attempt to stop the democratic process from working when he didn’t get his way.

Why would this person vote against safety and against the clearly expressed will of the people impacted?

Two reasons.

First: Aaron Freeman does not like Indianapolis and does not want us to get our way. He “live(s) generally in a more rural area” and does not understand nor care to understand the needs of the people of Indianapolis.

Questions:

  • There are several candidates who fulfill the residency requirement and have expressed willingness. But the door is still open! All potential candidates thus far want to collaboratively choose the best option, and are committed to supporting whichever candidate is decided to be strongest. If you are interested in being a candidate, email me at jesse@jesseforindy.com

  • Yes! The Blue Line referendum passed by a larger margin than Aaron Freeman has ever used to win state office. With the help of friendly activists contacting Freeman’s top donors and indicating our displeasure, we can out-fundraise him, out-canvass, and out-campaign him.
